Dear Campus Ministry Newman Clubs an Young Adults,

The Catholic Youth in Action Walk of February 8th, 2009 in downtown West Palm Beach was a great success. 1200 walkers declared to South Florida that Young Catholics care about their less fortunate neighbors. The event was covered by all the networks and local papers. Close to $40,ooo was raised by the participants. In this economic crisis, our local after school programs which serve the poorest of the poor, will greatly benefit from our efforts. It was more than just a fundraiser; it was truly a day of great community and solidarity. Go to www.diocesepb.org for pictures of the day.

As you know Newman Clubs and Young Adult groups were invited to participate with a cash prize going to support their own ministries. I am happy to announce the group with the greatest donation and participation was the FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY NEWMAN CLUB –BOCA CAMPUS. Congratulations! $200 will be donated to programs for the clubs use.
We thank all those who participated and hope that next year you will surpass this year’s numbers!
